Yorkshire Veterans Grand Prix – Keighley

The penultimate race in this year’s Eric Smith Trophy. As the Hon. Handicapper’s birthday coincides with a club training night for the first time since my fiftieth in 2019, it’s time for another Chevin Torch Race handicap. The route is from the junction of Myers Croft and Station Road, straight up the Chevin finishing at Surprise View, making your own route choice. Convening in the Royalty afterwards for race rehydration.

The traditional Christmas handicap route, run every year since the inaugural event in 1989, is always the final race for the Eric Smith Trophy. A 5 mile route that’s a lap on the road round Timble village followed by a lap of Swinsty reservoir, see map below.
