Race 3 of the 2025 Eric Smith Trophy is the Esholt Handicap, a 5 mile route starting next to the disused water treatment works at Esholt, a mixture of road & track, including 1.5 miles on the canal. Race 4 of the Eric Smith Trophy is the 4 mile clockwise lap of Fewston reservoir, starting opposite the entrance to the car park entrance, finishing up the hill at the same place. Peco Cross Country League 2024/2025

For the first time Otley AC seniors have been accepted into the Peco Cross Country League, (the juniors have been doing this league for a few years). This is a series of five races, finishing with relay races. See race details here and entry details here. The first race is Sunday 17th November at Temple Newsam. Tuesday 19th November, the penultimate race in this year’s Eric Smith Trophy. As the Hon. Handicapper’s birthday coincides with a club training night for the first time since my fiftieth in 2019, it’s time for another Chevin Torch Race handicap. A sunny but chilly evening for another successful Otley 10. See the full set of results on the RaceBest website here, Graham Rush, Leeds City won for the second year, reducing his local’s record to 53:18 and the second fastest V40 time behind Darren Bilton’s 52:01 from 2008. Georgia Malir also from Leeds City won the ladies race just 20 seconds over the hour, a time which is the 8th fastest ladies time in the 39 year race history. Below…

Parking is fairly limited so please car share as much as possible.
