Sunday 19th November – Tadcaster 10 mile Road Race

This is a fully closed road race around Tadcaster and the surrounding villages. Having done a 1.5 mile loop around Tadcaster, we found ourselves heading northeast along the side of the A64 before turning off to lovely country roads taking in the villages of Catterton, Healaugh and Wighill. An undulating route, with a very welcome water stop at 5.5 miles and plenty of local support along the route.
A really well organised race with plenty of brilliant marshals. We were rewarded with a medal and flapjack and Sharon achieved a 10 mile PB and as this was also a YVAA Championship race Mick was rewarded with a trophy for 2nd M70.

I have done this 10 miler twice in the early 2000 , then it stopped for about 15 years and from the report of Joanna the route is similar to the old one , very flat and I remember Phil R. was there as well with then President Tom H. and Carol A. Sharon K. had a strong race finishing with a quick 1.21 . Mick J. was amazing , he did this 10 mile in a solid 1.22 . Fiona M.J. too run well in Tadcaster , she finished in a super 1.29 . Also Joanna H. had an impressive performance , she finished with a powerful 1.31 . Phil R. is just a spectacular runner , he finished with a superb 1.32 .
