Sunday 29th October – Wistow 10k
Report from Pamela Tranter
A tarmac, pancake flat (3m of ascent over 10k…), course in the flatlands near Selby – enjoyed it last year when recovering from kneegate so was hoping for a better time this year.
Ask any runner what their concerns are pre-race, and the likely answer is parking and toilet availability. Having run here last year, we knew what was what…. Or rather we didn’t, as there had been a fire at Wistow village hall where Race HQ/toilets should have been situated, and the field for parking was understandably waterlogged……suffice to say that the 3 portaloos were not quite sufficient to prevent a 5 minute delay to the start 😉
Figure of 8 course, well marshalled, cup of water at half way, and just one huge puddle to navigate, and it didn’t rain – all in all a grand day out and a couple of minutes quicker than 2022 😊
Results
Winner and 1st Male – David McKinnon, Goole Viking Striders 33:03
1st Female – Sally Armitage, Ilkley Harriers 37:59
For Otley AC
Pamela Tranter 56:10 and 2nd VW60 (44th female overall)

A good short report from Wistow by Pamela T. who had as well a solid 10k , Pamela crossed the finish line in a strong time of 56.10 . The medal was well deserved .
