Sunday 17th September – Wetherby 10k
Report from Matt Podd.
Eight members of the club gathered at Wetherby racecourse on Sunday lunchtime for this well organised, fairly flat race.
The race was mainly on tarmac, but there was a bit of farm track some of which was a bit muddy.
It was not the most scenic course, with a lot of long straights. Running through Kirk Deighton was probably the highlight.
It was great to see Ursula and Pete supporting on the course and Laura, Dottie and Mrs Lines at the start and finish.
Another mug to add to the collection was awarded. Phil was praised at the start for being the oldest competitor – no VM 80 category, so no prize.
1. Joe Gentry 32.47 (Unattached)
17. Catherine Williamson 37.39 (Loftus & Whitby AC)
74. Peter Crowder 42.38
125. Eddie Lines 45.21
278. Matt Podd 52.19
422. Phil Robinson 58.15
437. Karen Robinson 58.34
459. Madeleine Delucchi 59.36
501. Simon Green 61.47
657. Tom Hannah 74.29
