Report from Fiona Marcantonio-Jones:
Nostell priory 10K, Wednesday 20th July, a cooler evening compared the the scorching nights before. Nostell priory is a National Trust Georgian house with beautiful surrounding grounds.
The runners were herded together whilst we were given instructions, I was too busy gassing at the back to hear what was going on, before I knew it we were off and I was stuck at the back! Lots of weaving in and out took place before I could find a space and a comfy pace. The course started off on a horseshoe loop before heading into the woods around the back of the house then up a steady incline through a meadow to the Obelisk, back down the meadow over the lake bridge and back to the start line for a second lap, this one took us on a slightly different route through a secret garden which kept it interesting.
It’s a pleasant run with lovely views and not too hilly, I look forward to running it again next year.
