Sunday 19th June – Pudsey 10k

Report from Paul and Pamela Tranter

The Pudsey 10K hadn’t been on our radar until a chance encounter at the Otley 10. We were both marshalling in Leathley and got chatting to a spectator who was there to cheer on the big contingent of Pudsey Pacers. She asked if we were doing the Pudsey 10K. No we said, you should do it was the reply, its really good and I’m sure there are places left.

So, we signed up!

And, it was indeed good. Very well organised, easy parking at the Pudsey Leisure Centre, easy number pick up and no loo queues! They’d even arranged perfect weather, sunny but not too warm, just right after the previous week’s heatwave.

Description automatically generatedThe run is described as ‘an undulating muti-terrain 10K’. Well, the latter were both true. It is indeed 10K and a lovely mix of road and trail, mostly easy running gravel tracks but a few rocky ascents and descents. In fact, there were two very steep ‘hills’ and lots of undulating bits in-between. Definitely hilly and not just undulating.

Nice route though. Amazingly rural being so close to Leeds and it seemed as if the whole of Pudsey was out cheering on the runners.

In summary, great organisation, great route, great support.

There was a medal for all finishers and you could choose between the race T-shirt or planting a tree.

  1. Well deserved medals for both of you . Pudsey 10k is not at all a flat route and I agree it is quite hilly . Paul T. had a solid run crossing the finish line in a significant 50.52 . Also Pamela T. had a good performance finishing in a very nice time of 1.02 .
