Report from Joanna Hobson
Another great race organised by LKR Events, took me to Burton Constable Hall in East Yorkshire, on the hottest day of the year to date. Fortunately the race went through a lot of trees so we were sheltered from the sun.
The route went around the grounds of Burton Constable, starting and finishing in front of the magnificent Hall. We went through the stables building, looping the old airfield (which you didn’t realise was an airfield until you saw the Strava map as it’s now a field full of sheep), took a figure of 8 loop around the lake and then a second anticlockwise loop of the airfield section and finishing on a stunning tree lined avenue before finishing in front of the Hall. Whilst the route was mostly flat it was quite tricky underfoot as the fields were full of rabbit holes!
Winner and first male – James Johnson Beverley Athletic Club 33:55
First female – Venika Moverley East Hull Harriers & AC 41:21
Joanna Hobson – 56:57 1st FV60

Special mention must go to my 96 year old Mother in Law who came to watch and had to negotiate gravel, grass and cobble stones walking with her mobility trolley, not easy!
